Sirens tore through the evening calm and nothing would ever be the same. In seconds, a normal night became a fight for survival, as walls shook, lights died, and families realized there was nowhere left to run. Panic spread faster than the storm. Every window, every roof, every heartbeat felt one breath away from shatt… Continues…They would later say the storm sounded like a freight train made of broken glass, roaring through every street at once. In the dark, people learned the geography of their own fear: the spot under the stairs, the hallway with no windows, the neighbor’s hand they gripped without thinking. Radios crackled with warnings and casualty counts, but also with names of shelters, reunification points, and the promise that someone was still out there, still looking.
